seed
Set within us at birth is a seed. If we are lucky and if the conditions are ripe, it cracks open. The seed that resides within is abundant with treasures. An intelligent blueprint made up of who we are and why we are here. What happens if we get to the end of our lives with our gifts still locked away? Do we get to do it all again?
How is it that some people become who they really are and others adapt to outside influences and become what society demands? Trading an aching soul knowing for supposed security. Understandably we settle for comfort and safety, ignoring innate wisdom nudging us toward a longing to reveal desires set within.
Our true purpose is to find what truly brings us alive. It is my belief that is what we are here to do. Finding what we love. Some find it in music, climbing a mountain, or in a bird's song. For me, I find it in poetry and in the silence of the woodlands. Whatever it may be, it is that which resonates with your unique soul song. It is the inner essence that has one feel drawn beyond themselves. It's not always simple and can take a lifetime to find.
Living the soul path involves immense bravery and often requires that we go against everything we thought we knew. It has us walk in a new direction on an unknown path. Deep courage is drawn upon to heed the call. It is often not the easy path, and why not all choose to listen? For some, the soul's pull is so strong that the safer, more comfortable path is not an option. It is here where one needs to get lost in order to be found. Life can be the ultimate diversion, endless distractions that pull us from our seed. When the soul's messages are forsaken, depression and illness arise. The ones who heed the demand to uncover the seed may appear off course or lost by those who ignore the inner callings. Amidst this quest, many are seen as foolish, as the quest cannot be easily seen and is not for all. Most are not aware of the metamorphosis undergone in the chrysalis. An intricate process that gives the butterfly its true beauty. A process that can only be brought about by surrendering to the mystery of life. It is my belief that when we take up residence in our own hearts, it is then that we are able to explore the depths of what truly brings us alive.
